CLS - Palladium Silver MATT

Perusing the new cars in my local dealership and spotted a beautiful CLS in silver.... but MATT

Must say it certainly stood out and I did rather like the effect.

But how durable is the finish? How soon would it start getting a shine? What if someone were to apply a wax finish?

The salesman commented there were more models becoming available with matt finishes but he had no idea on how robust they were.

The ML in matt black looked very mean....

My Aprilia is satin black and is now polished in all the parts where I contact it during riding! Very odd look.
We started the season with a satin black racecar too, it was impossible to keep it looking nice. By mid season the livery was re-thought and it is now gloss white.
Probably the equivalent of trying to keep suede shoes nice through all weathers! Unless there is a dramatic advance in paint technology?

Saw a lot of matt painted cars in Berlin recently, most were Porsche though. I guess its a new "fashon" thing.
