Has anyone updated there grille to the newer style with one chrome central bar running across?

I fitted the all black grill to my CLS , I think it looks good especially on a black car.

For the 219, I personally do not think the more modern single slat grille shuts the car - it is a classy icon. The triple slat AMG one as above looks the business.

This is the one to go for... In keeping with the era yet being a little more modern and cleaner lines.
