does anyone know what the small stalk is under the cruise control and indicator stalk it had me stumped.

I still think it is 'yuk' but again I accept I am in the minority. The vehicle is supposedly built around the 211, but in 'coupe' form. If you want four doors, then it should cater for 4 passengers.

The centre armrest pluggers likes is indeed the 211 armrest and without seeing a picture of this small stalk I will just make a guess at linguatronic control stalk.

The new 320CDI will indeed only be the 'chipped' 3.0ltr V6 engine.
