Clunk on gearchange

My 300TD 124 clunks on gearchanges( autobox) I used to have a 190 in the UK and I seem to remember it was a bush where the prop shafts connect in the center?
My thoughts are gearbox mounts or this prop shaft bush?
Any ideas please?
Thanks.

Could also be engine mounts.

dont forget the subframe bushes too

Thanks for advice.
How can I check if the engine mounts are dead?
When you describe the donuts, does this mean the rubber things that the propshaft goes through?

The do-nuts are at each end of the propshaft ( and sometimes one halfway along , joining two halves of the propshaft together but allowing for some flexing ) .

The shaft does not actually 'go through' them , although it could look as if it does , rather a flange on the end of the shaft couples onto one side of the do-nut and either the gearbox or diff flange couples to the other side .

As long as you have ramps or axle stands enabling you to work safely under the car , they are not difficult to change on the driveway .

C240 sport rear end clunk

Gent's

I am new to this post, I have read and learnt a lot from these forums, but I would like to ask for your help.
I have recently purchased a 99 C240 SPORT 5g Auto, 89,000.

I have had rear end clunk and jerk issue when the car is on over run under 10 mph, and shifting down. (Whne overrun a whining sound is also present.)

I have:

ATF\Filter Change
Diff Change
Replaced Propshaft, new Couplings, New Centre Bush.
Replace engine and gear box mounts.

I still have this annoying jerk, and clunk every time I light throttle under 10 mph, or let the car downshift into 1st when slowing down, not braking.

Any one got any ideas ?

Many Thanks
