clunk

Hi all any ideas on this one. when i blip the throttle from under the bonnet of my 230 komp i hear a metalic clunk for a second coming from what sounds like under the coil pack cover. took off the cover all is normal but noise remains. it sounds like a ball bearing in a can but just for a second then goes. checked all the exaust heat sheilds screws nuts etc nothing loose all is fine. any ideas what it may be? or where to look?

Just a shot in the dark as the location is a tad off but you know how sound travels in cars.

Have you checked your cat converter? when their on the way out they can sound as your describing??
