After getting my car back, I met With Richard from comandonline, who supplied me with a nice new navi disk and fuel remaining, autofold mirror, tyre pressure monitor and outside temp now available in my cluster display a nice firendly, proffesional guy with no problems refering him to anybody.
Thanks very much Richard.

On a side note, as a TOMTOM user for 7 years im having difficulty using this comand thingy. Say i want to get to an address and I know the postcode, which I enter then I try to select the street and its not there, this is happening all the time, am I missing something here? I know the postcodes are correct beacuase its my parents house - please help as I dont want to revert to sticking the TOMTOM back on the screen

Cheers
Andy

Hi Andy before fitting comand i was also a tomtom user. Enter postcode as you do believe you can only input up to 5 letters and numbers - press OK- should give name of town / city - press OK - should display street - use keyboard to scroll correct street name (sometimes you may have to overwrite the name of the street in the display) when your street is displayed on comand screen press OK - should say start route guidance - press OK - job done. Hope that helps - i use linguatronic for my nav, and thats means having to spell everything out.

Cheers, thats what I was doing but under the postcode it wouldnt give me the road name so I would input B67 5 select then try to input Beakes Road but its not under that postcode if you know what I mean i.e. it wont let me select it. But I know its right its my Parents house and TOMTOM can find it.

Takes a bit of practice to get used to it but it does work. Good luck and happy motoring.

Apparently there will be a new software coming soon for full postcode lookup.

Got a friend in Stuttgart who comes in very useful from time to time ;)

Not sure but will try to find out.

Theres definately something wrong, when i put a postcode in it doesnt list the street under it, This happens loads - i know im right and its worng, dont think the tomtom is going on ebay just yet.

Just an update with the full postcode info....

All new models now come with full postcode lookup except the W204 which has yet to get the upgrade.

This is a bit odd seeing as though it should not be difficult to update the software however this is not the case.

This post is pre the new Comands which now have full postcode lookup. It must be the hardware and not just the software that has been improved.

I know it's been mentioned before but cant seem to find the thread, whats the difference between version 7.0 & 8.0 on the Eclass comand DVD?

V7 requires an update to work if upgrading from much earlier versions. V8 doesnt. Aside from that there are bug fixes and improved roads especially in europe.
