Comand APS + w169

Hi,

I want to retro-fit a comand APS HDD NTG 2.5 in my w169. I found some units on ebay as well as the parts needed from comand.co.uk (for Linguatronic & cables for Bluetooth and mic). I want to know if the dim lights of the console will be the same as in my car. Some w169 have white back-lit buttons while other yellow-ish. Mine is yellow-ish what I want to know is that if the units understands what color the light is and if not how can I distinguish the color of the light it has as back-lit.

I have never noticed this and no info at all on the net about this. If it is correct it may just be a pre-face lift and post-facelift thing. All Comand NTG2.5 units will be from a post face-lift as it was introduced in MY09>.

Hey,

No it's not a face-lift difference; elegance models have yellow-ish back-lit and Avangarde models have White back-lit. Mine is elegance...so I have to know; somehow

Interesting. The switch pack at the bottom does not have different part numbers for elegance and avantgarde and nor does the aircon controls.

Its hard to tell with clusters as the clusters are different between different trims.

Which switches do you think change colour so I can look further at the part numbers

Thanks for the quick reply richard you are most welcome! Well in my car everything from the dashboard back-lit to the Audio-20 unit I have (even the window/mirror switches) have the yellow back-lit color; the same applies for avantgarde models instead of yellow they have white. I'll give you a night shot in order to see what I am talking about

Yes me!

I had an Avantgarde W169 and I retrofitted NTG 2.5 to it. I didnt notice any colour difference in the lighting at all and it is just the sort of thing that I would have noticed.

Hmm.... you have the yellow one or the white one? I am really curious for this as none seems to have a clue about it
