R230 - driving along yesterday listening to CD, suddenly Comand goes off - no sound, blank screen, won't switch back on. Stopping for petrol in a mile - do so, switch off ignition, switch back on & hey presto, working fine.

Only thing I noticed was the CD had moved on to the next track, so it was blissfully unaware that the rest of the system was down.

Anyone seen this before or anything to check?

Many thanks

I'ts happened a lot on several different cars.

Turn off ignition and reboot - all is fine.

Can't say that it's ever happened in mine, but like Palfrem says maybe it was a simple reboot?

Do you have the NTG1 or comand 2 system? Ie is there a navigation drive in the boot?

Not sure which is which, but nothing in the boot - satnav CD in the comand unit itself, CD changer in the box behind the passenger seat

having used Windows for a hundred years, reboot is always the first port of call!

I had this happen once (literally) before - can't remember if it was this one or the last SL but again, reboot got it going again.

Maybe it had too much to think about & decided to take its bat & ball home

Had this a few times....just switch off engine and restart....this seems to cure the problem...

Sometimes on mine the position on the map bears no relation to where I am. Then voila it fixes itself. Doesn't happen often - very rarely in fact - but when it does it's a bit worrying.
