COMAND Navigation problems

Good evening Guys,

Can any of you clever fellows tell me why my 2005 post facelift W203 COMAND navigation fails to find places via the enter destination function but I can manually find them on the map and then tell the car to navigate.

Had major problems finding a road in Swindon earlier.

Also how do I get the car to do full postcodes?

HI Dan,

What version of the navigation S/W are you using? I suspect its V9 or 9.1 which has known issues with roads/towns missing.

Full postcode support is not possible on the Comand APS system which you have fitted. Best you will get is 5 digit postcode support.

You have, once again, hit the nail on the head. I am running V9.0, so that would explain it. Ebay tonight then for V10.0

Where did you get that from? I *think* MB were replacing V9 discs - maybe a dealer would just swap it for you, particularly if requested at service time.

I have V6.3 (first one that had TMC) and I'd say about half the places I look up are not in the index - I generally find them on Multimap and then scroll to them as you described, saving them in memory, then switch to nav and recall last saved destination.

I did read a review from someone with V10 and it didn't sound like it was much better. I'd cheerfully buy it for £50 or so, but the list price is just ridiculous.

V11 is the latest for your car.

Make sure you get an original. They really do work a lot better than copies.
