Hi i have a 2005 facelift c220 coupe with comand ntg2 fitted.
How can i get my Samsung phone connected to the head units Bluetooth facility. I have scanned from the phone but it doesn't find the unit.
Thanks

In most Mercedes cars there is an optional phone system, which gives you a UHI connector (normally in the top section of the centre armrest) to which you must connect a phone cradle or a bluetooth adapter such as https://www.comandonline.co.uk/Mercedes-Bluetooth-HFP-Cradle.html or https://www.comandonline.co.uk/viseeo_mb4.html

To add confusion 2005/2006/2007 Mercedes with the optional phone system have a facility to connect a Bluetooth headset, and if you have found the head unit talking about Bluetooth or found a device when searching for headsets on your phone, this is probably what you have found. The bluetooth name for this part of the system is UHI-SNI-xxxx or something similar.

If you do have a bluetooth adapter already in your armrest, then it needs to be made visible for pairing. If it is the Mercedes Bluetooth Adapter (the black one in the links above), then you hold down the 'bluetooth' sign (which is a button) for about 5 seconds until the blue LED starts flashing fast, search for devices on the phone and the pairing code will be 62872 ("mbusa")

Thanks for that . You certainly sound as though you know your stuff. I'll check wiring to the armrest and depending on the outcome look out for Bluetooth cradle . Thanks mate .

Just coming back to this, the R-class we collected yesterday has Comand NTG 2 and the UHI adaptor in the armrest (nothing attached). When attempting to perform a pairing activity on the car it found my iPhone (whilst my iPhone found the aforementioned UHI-SNIxxxx), but I also couldn't get them to pair albeit both asked me for a pin (which I just made up on the car as has been the case with other car phone systems I have connected to then used the same one on my iPhone).

Are there any circumstances whereby it is possible that an additional cradle may not be needed on the NTG2 al la NTG2.5? I'd read the manual, but it's missing from our car(!) and Comand Online were seemingly closed yesterday otherwise I'd have bought a cradle, more recent than v4.0 map and the manual already.

Hi,

You always need an adapter on NTG1 and NTG2 i'm afraid.

The Comand.co.uk physical shop in Lightwater isn't always open on a Saturday - sorry if you had a wasted trip. Online shop almost always open though :-)

Cheers

Richard

Thanks for the confirmation and PM Richard - I'll call in at the shop tomorrow to get it all sorted out.
