Combination filter help.

Hello, Could anyone help me, I have just purchased an 04, W211, 320 CDI and although it has a full S/History I just had to change the oil to synthetic & renew filters ect, but my question is what is a Combination Filter? I see from the service log it has been renewed before but don't have clue what it is, can anyone enlighten please?

Think it refers to the cabin AIR filter element (combination of paper particulate filter and activated charcoal) a quick input of the part no here http://www.mercedes-benz-parts.co.uk/ -- get it from the invoice---- should help pin it down.

It is above the starter battery in the engine bay.

Some call it a dust filter or pollen filter.
