Hi folks,

Just bought a 56 plate c220 (w203???) and loving it but a bit disappointed to see the command Bluetooth doesn't allow the phone to work.

I was going to put in an aftermarket DAB player as well.

Can anyone recommend a way to get everything with one product- phone Bluetooth and music and DAB?

If not what's the easiest way to get this separately?

Thanks!!!

been doing some searching about. the only ways to make this work that I can find are

-the Bluetooth module for the centre armrest which allows phone calls but not music
-wired phone adaptor

Ive previously had bmws and even my 2004 3 series had built in phone Bluetooth so it's a bit disappointing to see this is going to cost me at least another £1-200.

can anyone point me in the direction of a simpler and/or cheaper option

Replace the headunit wit an aftermarket one, Plenty out there for sub £300

It is an 8yr old Sat Nav design... it is going to be crap at navigation anyway... just replace it with an aftermarket unit.

You can retrofit ipod connectivity at a price... you can add a bluetooth puck at a price... you can add dab at a price....

Thanks for the replies.

I know I can get them all separately, but can I get them all together?

If I get an aftermarket headunot which one do you recommend?

sorry for my complete ignorance on all the details but this is my first MB.

This is the ICE headunit i have at the moment

So can I upgrade this?

thanks again!

ok so I've found the AUX in socket and hidden a wire from the glovebox to the armrest so music is sorted.

So all I need to sort now is Bluetooth phone connection and DAB if possible.

are there any DAB receivers that integrate Bluetooth phone?

I'm only planning to keep the car for a year then buy a newer one which will have all this pre-installed so I don't really want to put down loads of dosh.

I'm tempted to buy a second hand HFP puck (about £100 or so on eBay) and live without the DAB ( £150 autodab from halfords for example) unless someone can tell me a combined way to do this for about £250???

any suggestions appreciated!

beginning to feel like im talking to myself on this thread- got the bluetooth puck for £80 which works well.Does anyone have any personal experience of either AutoDAB or the Pure Highway integrated systems? Searched the fora here but most info is pretty old

Hiya,
I recently sold a Kenwood DNX9240 all in one unit and it was fantastic.
Touch screen, remote on steering wheel compatible, full ipod integration with full graphics, Garmin sat nav, Radio, USB, TV, DVD great sound/amp etc etc
Just google Kenwood Electronics. Alpine alsodo double din units i am sure you can get a facia to fit once agin just google double din facia kits.

these units are usually more compatible and upgradeable then MB units.

Good luck

Dab is still a pain, as said above, only really Kenwood offering an all in one solution.

Adding Merc Dab costs fortunes.

Alpine now offer a DAB add on that is meant to work well.

Alpine - DAB - EZi-DAB

thanks for the replies guys.the bluetooth is working well and i can play music thru my aux in cable which isnt too intrusive. It all seems so much expensive hassle for a car that im only planning to keep for a year.My iphone contract is an old one with unlimited data so i think i might just stream digital stations over 3G for the timebeing and see how it goes.many thanks for your advice!

I have this in my C43 and it works a treat - in stead of a CD player, when u flip down the face there is an iPod dock, can also stream Bluetooth and do all your phone stuff, and can integrate with steering wheel controls.

DSX-S300BTX | iPod for Car Stereo | Features | DSXS300BTX.EUR | DSXS300BTX | Sony

Personally not a fan of DAB in the car as I find that only a limited number of stations have good reception and none at all in some parts of the country.
