I would like to have a command sat-nav fitted to my c-class but struggle to find a unit or someone to do the work, the dealers say it is a impossible task but me being an optimist think otherwise, could anyone recommend anything or shed some light to my dilemma,
p.s. im in the north-west of england
pps. what sort of cost would I be looking at and would it invalidate the warranty

Hi,
I fitted a Comand unit to my 2003 w203 about 6 months ago....It is a fairly straight forward task.
Do a search on this site....you will find everything you need and full details of Various Members with their Installations. :)

Good Luck

If this is any help, Shude installed Command into a W202, and it should be pretty much the same for you except easier because you haven't gotta cut facias up.
Would still have do do some dashboard surgery to remove the horizontal shelf under where the single-din headunits sits though, right? I don't know much about fitting a comand to the W203 but I *think* it's pretty much plug and play.

CD-rom based comands can easily be installed in 2001-2004.5 W203s. Complete self installation kits can be purchased from [email protected].

The only thing you may need to do, is get your car reprogrammed after the comand install, so the nav.intructions will show up in your instrument cluster.

I know a friendly stealership in North Manchester who may be able to do this for nothing if you ask them nicely and time it correctly ;)

It was very straight forward....no cables to chop or dash to alter...it took me about 2 hours.

I used an under dash Attenna.

Road Range Birkdale enabled the comand unit, when it was in for it's A Service at no extra charge.....Although It did not make a lot of difference. (the Unit functions ok without this)

Same here, only I mounted it in the parcel shelf ;)
