COMMAND NTG 2.5 Retrofit

He said he wants to use the rear entertainment too so you need to code that on as well.

BTW when you retrofitted the NTG2.5 did you move the aux input connector from the original quadlock connector to the one on the new loom? If not thats why it doesnt work.

THANKS Guys!

Maybe I have understand wrong that 18 pin connector. I think that I can use it like this:

-I put there audio + video in
-I take there audio + video out for rear set to my kid. There IS NO most components in ring but I think I add Media interface + secont part DVB-T receiver with USB. I have tryed video - Connetor in pin 1+2 and it works fine. I tryed also Audio In and Out but just REALY REALY low noise when volume is max.

Maybe I just need put video in that connector and audio in that other connector like Richard sayd. Im not sure but shoud there be normally Aux-input at NTG1 Comand? Car is made 08/2008. There was even no video green fakra in old comand.. :( Thats why this whole retrofit starts

Would I be right in thinking the remaining pins are for the pre out phonos for the HK amp?

I am right :-) Video in on the 18 pin connector, Audio in on the black 12 pin sub-connector of the 40+4 Quadlock. Ensure UCI is turned off, and AUX is set to Video Aux (rather than just Audio AUX or you get no AUX in the video menu). After changing config you must do a FN_ECU_RESET in the actuations menu in developer mode.

Thanks. Now there is Aux at Audio and Video menu. So I think It should work at that set up :) I will take a try at this evening.

It was like you say and now its working. :) I dont need cange coding. I found also aux-in cable back side of comand but I dont need to use that. I have buyed 12pin connector and pins before so I meade cable with RCA plugs.

If anyone need to know Pins in 12 connector were:

4 - Aux in left
9 - Aux in Ground
10 - Aux in Right

Then I haft to ans other question:
How I can open CD-charger door after I have changed NTG1 to NTG2.5? It won't work anymore. I think I will put DVB-T Receiver there because it fit there so well. :)

Is that door motor 12V???

Can anyone help with this? I'm in USA and have a 2006 w203 with Comand APS/MCS II with HK and have a NTG 2.5 USA unit from a 2011 G500. I need to know how to make it work the rest of the way or what parts i need to order to get it to fully function. Hopefully someone can help me because it is driving me crazy and i've seen plenty of PRE-facelift w203 go to ntg 2.5 but non of the post-facelift w203's. if possible, please email me AamirRod@gmail.com. Any help will be much appreciated.

Email Richard at command on line uk, they have all you need.

No Audio AUX output.

Hi,

Before read this thread, my brother and me, playing with pins and connectors of my NTG2.5 and activating menus using "Xentry developer", we have achieved that work fine the A/V input and the Video output. :bannana:
But the Audio left and right output don't work at all. :fail(18 pins rear connector: Audio out right=18; Audio out left=9; Audio out ground=8)

I'm not a UCI (or multimedia interface), nor MOST (fiber optic) is connected to the Comand. :dk:

We want to send the A/V output signal to the rear entertainment.;)

I would appreciate any suggestion or idea. :p

anyone knows this item called Window-closing intelligent key module. it seems very interesting.Auto window-closing intelligent key module

The reason it is intestine is because MB's 'Convenience Closing' and Summer Opening' feature does not work very well..... had MB done the job properly in the first place there would be no need for this device.

I'm just about to buy a W251 R320 with Audio 20. Could you let me know the best way to integrate my iPhone for both music and handsfree calls? I've looked at fitting Dension or retrofitting a Comand unit but not sure which would work out cheapest or best?

Any help or suggestions would be welcome!

Thanks.

I've retrofitted NTG2.5 on my R, only thing I needed was the "conversion kit" that Comandonline sells. Even if your car isn't prepared for a phone you can still fit a microphone if needed. My car was prepared ("MTUS"?) so it was quite easy to fit.

Hi!

I know it is an old thread, but there is a lot of useful information here. I recently retrofited a COMAND NTG 2.5 with media interface. Everything works. My current configuration is:
  • MOST - ”ON”
  • UCI - ”ON”
  • AUX Audio - ”ON”
  • Video AUX - ”Audio and Video”
I'm trying to make the video-aux work. I know it is possible to play videos via the 3,5 mm jack, but I can't make it work. I have a 5th gen iPod video (the only one that has TV-out via dock and jack also). I also have the original set of cables for MI (aux, 30-pin and USB). I also bought a 4-pin 3,5 mm jack to jack (the one used for video). On audio-aux everything works fine. The moment I try to play a video and set the iPod to TV-out, the speakers start buzzing, the audio plays in background and the COMAND screen stays black.

1. Is the original aux-in to MI cable video compatible?
2. Playing with some settings in developer mode I found "videotext" and "Fond audio" - what are those?

Thank you!
