Common for Cats to block 124 E220 Exhausts?

Hi

I have one hell of a rough running 124 Coupe at the moment. What with the wiring,I have also had a new front section, sadly down to single cat now,for the MOT.
However, today has been the second time I've removed my back box as I've been sure my exhaust is blocked.
And yup,a big lump of charcoal eventually drops out.
The thing is,to get this new poxy aftermarket front pip/cat to stay air tight, they've had to weld one of the pipes. The connector on the centre section is cracked from where they overtightened it!!
Anyway,I wondered if its common for the centre section to fill up with crud from the old Cat.This could well explain my car not revving up much, taking ages to get to 30 mph as if it has no back pressure.Im wondering if its not my wiring after all from/to MAF.I'm sure I once had this problem with a VW.I've tried ramming the inside with a pipe but nothing and I cant detach from front section anyway as its welded!!

Is this a common thing? Blocked centre sections from where the cat finally dies??

Thx

Steve
