THat might be the reason. I'm a bit loath to upload direct scans in case I infringe copyright regs, but if we could be on the board at the same time, I can put up my email tomorrow and then delete it quickly to do this privately.

If there are any problems with this, maybe somebody could advise?

I would very much doubt that you have any Copyright concerns on a document that is in the public domain. You could always post a disclaimer.

Well, to save any further hassle, my local MB dealer has ordered me an original that would have come with the car from Germany for the princely sum of £2 +VAT. Can't really complain.
