I have a 2013 E-Class with Audio 20, and a Media interface socket in the cubby between the front seats - apologies I'm a noob so I don't know the model nomenclature.
I have both the official Mercedes media interface cables for iPod and iPhone (lightening plug) - the part numbers are A0038270204 (for iPod) and A0038270904 (for iPhone) . I have an iPhone 5 and an iPod Classic 6th Generation.
I am getting "device not compatible" errors on both devices and am getting a little frustrated having forked out £100 for an iPod Classic 6th Generation on ebay, and on both the cables. I also get the same error with my 2nd Generation iPod Touch.
Can anyone tell me why none of these devices are working?

I know the cable sets changed between my 62 plate E Class and my 13 plate E Class as I had the older cables and tried them in the 13 plate car, they didn't work so I can only suggest checking with the dealer that you have the correct part numbers that are compatible with your media interface

I've had a glance at my media interface cable for the 62 plate and 60 plate cars I had and the 30 pin apple cable had part number A001827804 on it, in fact the original pack of three cables was A0018278204 and they all start A001827.....

Ah ha! If you go to the Mercedes-Benz Bluetooth Connectivity and follow the links it looks like the cable set changed from the model numbers you had to the model numbers that I quoted half-way through 2012. I wonder whether my 2012 plate car should be using the older cables you've suggested not the ones I have. Phone call to Nick the parts manager on Tuesday then!
