considering buying a c43- any opnions?

I want a cheap V8 play thing and after recently selling the 300ce I am wanting another Benz- I've got a couple of grand and if by chance I came across this one.

111k- cat c (I've checked it- back in 2008 and then vic checked in 2009)

anyway i know it looks rough- but my god for that money....

Even if it lasted a year or if have to put a couple of grand in it- I would.

I'm reallstic- what do others think?

Rather than spend 1.5k on this and then put another 2k into it, I think you'd probably just be better off buying a tidier model that's been looked after, and enjoy the car more than having to worry about potential costs...

Check for rust on the sills. I have seen a few now with fist size holes in them. All repairable but just be careful.

The engine is strong as is the gearbox if it has been looked after. (regular oil changes). The suspension will need a look at at about 70k. The lower arms and ball joints wear.

Well after doing some research I found the previous owner and lots of pics

It shows back n 2011-

"replacement gearbox and torque converter from 62,000 mile car full trans service including the oil in the t/c,electric plug(tcu)filters,etc work carried out by indie in cheshire on the 30/09/11 at a cost of 1038.00 pounds.

also the crankshaft pulley,idler pulley,auxillaray dive tensioner and v-belt done on the 3/8/11 at a cost of approx 500.00 pound"

Pretty good news I think.... I'm goings buy it

Go for it! Make sure about the gearbox care since it was sold by this member though, that's one hell of a pricey part to get fixed if it needs to be.
