Has anybody had problems with this my 1997 C Class saloon has a bad creak in the rear offside suspension. I have tried using WD40 on each individual joint to try and find out what is causing the creak but nothing seems to work.
Any ideas?

remove the inner boot carpet, you should see th etop of the rear struts - check the rubbers.

I have exactly the same problem recently developed on my 1998 C240. It is most noticeable when entering / exiting vehicle, getting a sort of creaking sound from O/S/R suspension - and I'm only 10 stone :D !! Seems quiet enough on the road though. I'll do what Koolvin suggests and keep you posted.

Anyone know how difficult it is to change the mounting rubbers, or does this entail fitting new shockers??

Come to think of it, the front end has begun to get a bit rattly over poor road surfaces as well. I know it's not the anti-roll bar rubbers because I changed those last year. Seems to be a regular gripe on here with W202's. Anyway, that's another story. I'll get the rear end sorted first.

Creaking Suspension

Found out at last what has been causing the creaking. It was the lower arm / hub carrier bottom bush. They looked perfect but it is the inside of the component that siezes and starts creaking, seemingly the same as the Vauxhall Vectra on which this is a common problem.
