I am getting this message if I buy a ctek 10 charger will I be able to just plug it in and leave it to do do it's thing as I have no idea how they work or what you have to do I really want a device that does it all for me, or if someone can recommend one that's better that would be great but I think I need one sooner rather than later

I also have a few and leave them on charge for weeks at a time. Just period pally check them every few weeks - especially when you first use it to make sure that the battery is receiving the charge and it’s not overheating, etc.

A CTEK MXS 5.0 would be the obvious choice, but a CREO MXS 10 would be fine too. You simply connect the red (positive) crocodile clip to the Red (positive) charging point under the bonne, and the black (negative) crocodile clip to an Earth point nearby.

Then connect the CTEK charger to the crocodile clips and plug it in to a mains socket. Then all you need to do is select which type of battery it is - first select the car icon and then select the AGM icon - and you’re done. Let it do it’s thing.

The status lights will tell you which stage of charging (or maintenance) it’s at. Don’t be tempted to use the RECOND function with an AGM battery - the charger will allow you to select that combination but advise that it should not be used.

Thank-you for your help much appreciated can I take it off charge at any time or does it have to complete a particular cycle before doing so, does it start from scratch when putting it back on charge or carry on where it left off...sorry for all the questions

No worries at all, ask away. You can disconnect it at any time, either by removing the crocodile clips or unplugging the CTEK at the mains socket.

Every time you connect it the CTEK will assess the state of battery and begin charging it accordingly, so just connect - or reconnect - and let it do it’s thing 👍🏻

Thank you for your help I have the ctek 10 being delivered after 12 today and being an older gentleman all this tech stuff is beyond me but with your help hopefully I'll get the battery charged back up happy days

If anything is not clear when you try them don’t hesitate to post back. The key thing is don’t connect it directly to the battery - connect it ito the dedicated charge point under the bonnet. The positive terminal is beneath a small red cover, and the negative connects to an Earth point - look for something that looks like a bolt on the inside of the wing in the engine bay, with wires connected to it 👍🏻
