STIC reuseable active inside glass mount DAB car aerial on eBay (end time 03-Mar-11 14:08:01 GMT)

Hi, has anyone used one of these, I have just bought a Blaupunkt Woodstock DAB54 and need an aerial for the DAB. The 210 300TD has the internal aerial on the rear n/s window and there are no external aerials and I was hoping to keep it that way. Or what about one of these that utilises the present aerial ?

Failing these i will no doubt have to use an on glass aerial.

Thanks

I have a Woodstock DAB54 also, but ive not used either of the aerials that you linked.

Looking at the questions on the Stic auction it seems they don't recommend that aerial for the Woodstock, though the guy is asking about a 52 rather than a 54.

I'll go out and see if there is a part number on the original internal DAB aerial that came with my unit.

The original aerial part number on mine is 7 617 495 203.

Bosch DAB aerial

I'm glad i checked now as only a couple of places seems to have them and they are £55.

I had been hoping that the unit would be a straight swap over from the Blaupunkt in the 124, but the sockets at the rear are different so i'll need to change the cage, and carefully reuse my original aerial.

You could always drill a hole in your roof like I did :D.

Press here.

Andy that's certainly an alternative way of doing it, but it's now made me think that same £55 isn't expensive at all :) .

UPDATE--- I bought the Internal DAB aerial that just sticks on the inside of the front screen, and of course easy fitting, just needed to hide it behind the trim panels. Tuned in and found "Planet Rock" easily on the "National Ensemble " plus lots of other stations (this was at home in Northampton) all nice and clear and no FM hiss. So last week I made the journey up to Fife in Scotland and left the radio on Planet Rock for the whole journey, M1,M6,A74,M74,M8,A92 up to Leven. Only at Shap Fell did I lose the station for a while, and then up by Dumfries, where there are mountains did the signal go again. Since then have been across to Callendar, other side of Stirling and again only when there were mountains in the way did the signal go. There might of course been other stations that I could have tuned into ( local Ensembles) but I just left it on "Planet Rock" for the purpose of the exercise.
So, I am very pleased with the performance of the internal aerial, and would recommend it as the way to go rather than drilling holes in the roof.
