Damn! 300ce 6.0l

Now that would be interesting....a CE with a M119 AMG 6.0 and a wide body kit.

Having seen other cars sold by this company, it will be big bucks!!

That's a special car. Very nice

BLIMEY, what a BEAUTY. It looks TOO good, I deffinatly like it very much. We have a C124 E36 AMG owner on this forum who wants to do the wide body kit mod to his coupe also wonder how his will turn out hopefully as good as this !

WOW! We like that
Not really a hammer because it has the later M119 engine.
Look at the other cars they're selling.. How about this?..

Its not a Hammer, as the Hammer used a M117 V8 with AMG Heads which were to their own design.

I have looked at various cars over the years that this garage has sold and I do have a slight nagging doubt in my mind as to the authenticity of the cars, ie they all look freshly built and things like the AMG build plates look squeeky clean....for example this 300CE is a pre facelift car, but it has a M119 6.0 engine which from memory didn't come out until @1995

Don't get me wrong, they have some hugely desirable cars, but......

Ok, I've had a look at some of their other cars and the SEC is another example of a remanufactured car and is not an original AMG factory build...it again has a M119 6.0 engine which is completely wrong for the age of car.....still a very nice car, but not an original car.

But then looking down and the next SEC and what have we got.....OMG..A GENUINE AMG QUAD CAM AMG ENGINE.....but whats going on with that interior.

I've attached a photo of my own, showing the Quad Cam engine from my Hammer.....or should I say, recently sold Hammer.:(

Sorry, back again.....I see that they still have their Hammer Saloon still for sale. Its been up for sale for the last 3 years. Does have the correct engine but the AMG build plate is completely different to my Hammer which was a genuine Affalterbach factory built car.

I'm not sure that it really matters if it's original or not. Let's face it, an original AMG from that era is just a modified car anyway. I think I'd rather have a 300CE with an M119 6.0 than a Hammer.

<ducks for cover..>

I have to agree - did they not make one then? I know they made a W124 E60 saloon.

They never made one, only the E36 AMG Coupe. No idea why either, probably not a market for it at the time? Since they had the CL/SL classes to take the "big coupe" positions with 5.0L and 6.0L engines.

Arrrrgggghhh - I took a fancy to that!! Doh!!

No they didn't make one with the M119 engine...they always used the M117 with the AMG Quad Cam heads with capacities ranging from 5.0, 5.6 to 6.0

The W124 E60 was AMG's take on the 500E/E500.

That CE is amazing. It's been up for sale for a couple of months now, with Garage Current. If you browse their stocklist, you'll also find a W124 300E 6.0 Hammer Saloon, a W140 Brabus 6.9 V12, among a host of other rare cars. They seem to find superb rare examples.
Worth a visit when I'm a millionaire! :D
