Dead (now resurrected) battery. Viseeo?

Just back from a short business trip - was away for about 4 days and the CLS battery was totally dead after being stood for this time.

Remote unlock, stereo, lights etc - nothing would work.

Mobilo came out within 30 mins to get the beast started and do some diagnosis. STAR test, battery test and what not.

Verdict was the battery was OK but there was a small drain - 0.37 amps after car shuts down. Apparently it should be under 0.1.

It was going to take too long to find out the cause there and then so he got on to local MB dealer to book in, then Enterprise to send me a shiny new CLS (or whatever equivalent car they had). All very exciting.

Just as this was arranged I had a thought - could it be the Viseeo I bought a couple of months ago. Asked him about it then we removed it, let the car shutdown and retested. Lo and behold, current drain dropped to 0.1amps.

Hence no need to get car in to dealer (or have a go in a new MB). Anyone else suffered from a duff Viseeo? Any firmware updates for these?

Or could it be a problem with the port in the car not shutting down properly?

I had a Viseeo in an ML for several months with no ill effects.

Should add- mine is the latest model I think - MB4

As an aside - just taken the plunge and bought one of those Lidl battery chargers that are on offer.

Thought it would be a better use of my time than driving round for a couple of hours to charge up the battery as was suggested by the guy.

Obviously I can connect this to the battery in the boot if I leave it open.

Does one need to disconnect the battery from the car first? If not is there a better place to hook this up to for trickle charge?

I just connected across the battery don't, need to disconnect battery otherwise everything will need resetting everytime you need to use the car. just remember to switch off and disconnect charger before starting the car
