This is a double edged sword.

The problem with capitalism on the whole is it's inherently corrupt. However, it's not as corrupt as Communism or Socialism.

When you start looking into everything in minutia it can only lead to trouble in the form of over regulation.

The Banks are a fine example. They've been operating with impunity for decades, centuries even and all of a sudden we want them to be above board with every single thing they do. In reality we'd be better letting them get on with it no matter how unpalatable that may be.

I would assume this refers to commercial vehicle outlets only although they may well be be part of a larger "group" which would include car retailers??

Even I, who works in finance (retail not commercial) can see the plus in a reasonably regulated system thats principle led....

I'll start with the culture "Treating customers fairly"...

Things are better for retail customers than they were before.

But I agree too much of a good thing, can soon be a bad thing. Its a question of balance.

However, I feel I should not comment too much on this thread, as I am not very impartial when it comes to MB dealers.

You need to listen to Niall Ferguson's Reith lecture. Its very good but quite long at 42 minutes BBC Radio 4 - The Reith Lectures, Niall Ferguson: The Rule of Law and Its Enemies: 2012, The Darwinian Economy
but I will summarise it for you--- we don't need any more financial regulation we need to throw some of the greedy f****rs in jail ! :p
