Did I break adaptive suspension?

I was going a little too fast over a dip in the road in my w204 c class and all four wheels might have left the road and the car came down quite hard

Now I might be totally imagining it, but since then it's like the adaptive suspension is constantly on "hard" ie it corners like it is on rails even at slow speeds and the ride feels a bit harsher.

Probably me imagining things but I wondered if it was possible that I broke something and maybe there was a mechanic here who knew about these things?

You need the codes read, it sounds like the system is stuck in hard mode, possibly due to a broken sensor link arm.

Ok I'll take it in, thanks, Ill just say I went through a pothole ;)

4 potholes.

All four wheels off the ground !!

Hope I'm not driving on the same piece of road as you !

There's a bumpy section of road in my area where you get that weird feeling in your tummy because the road drops away at a very sharp gradient, the kids love it.

I've not really been on it since I had my 318, so I kind of forgot the Merc is a wee bit more powerful and probably went over the dip a little faster than usual, resulting in lift off. My bad.

Do you have the "Dynamic handling package" which is electronic with an ECU etc controlled by a switch on the dash or have you the standard adaptive damping which uses non electronic inertial dampers?

Standard with AMG Sport Plus, there is no switch.

What/where is a sensor link arm and is it expensive to replace?

So, the car has been in and checked, nothing wrong with the suspension, apart from the fact they told me it doesn't actually have adaptive suspension fitted. Which is a bit disconcerting because this is standard fit for my model, according to the sales brochure when I bought the car....

Its weasel words in the Mercedes sales literature.:o All Mercedes have "adaptive damping" in they have inertially valved dampers that self-adjust with road and driving conditions. People reading the literature often infer---- wrongly ---- that this amounts to a full blown electronically controlled adjustable damping system --- it doesn't! This is further confused by the optional extra cost Dynamic Handling package on the Sport models ---which does. It's just loose terminology really but helps sales!;)

I hear what you are saying Grober and it makes sense because the brochure shows all three models listed as having adaptive suspension as standard.

So I guess my beef is with the CSA yesterday that told me "your case does not have adaptive damping", because from what you say, it does...
