hi there everyone
i have a 1989 190 (w201)
the diff is shot and i was wondering if the cosworth diff will fit straight on?
does any know if it will?

Is it not an ASD type diff? It might bolt in place but might not fit the half shaft flanges. The ratio might be different also, so I would be doubtful.

asd? i know that there is differant types of diff for the 190 as iv had to change them b4 at work!
on the ones i have changed i had to change the half shaft flanges on the diff and the drive shaft flange! i didnt know weather the cosworth diff was universal like them!

The cosworth LSD diffs are slightly bigger so you will need the shorter drive shafts from the cosworth.

The ASD diffs (late 2.3-16 and all 2.5-16) are bigger still so once again the drive shafts will need to be changed over. To get the ASD working you will need the pump and all piping associated with it so probably not what your after.

Thanks to everyone for your replys! I think the best and easyst option is to just replase the diff like for like! Iv been on to dronsfields web sight and the have quite a few different ones for this model. Aparanty there is a part number on the diff does anyone know where it is?
