Did a search and nothing came back

Looking for the above for an 05 E220cdi, for the engine and auto box. I've already asked two sellers on ebay but they seemingly don't fit despite them saying in the description that they do 🙄

I simply don't like or trust the electronic measuring.

So what sizes is I need for this thing if anyone knows.

That's one of the sellers that despite giving the chassis and reg said it doesn't fit.

What about one for the engine, do you know.
Thats the one I have for my 722.6 transmission . Mine works . Fit is the wrong word really. It's used to check the level , not to remain in place . Same with the engine oil dipsticks , Not designed to stay in situ with the engine running.

No idea on the engine dipstick buddy , my cars both have them .
But if you have the 5g gearbox (722.6) then it will work , you don’t leave it in and it hangs out by a foot but it works perfectly

Why would this clown say it won't work/fit when it does, honest to god 🙄

Also, why can't the they be left "in" like normal cars.
I honestly don't think I'll have this long as there will no doubt be something else that I will say is a stupid design that relies to much on electronics and get rid of it.

I know what you mean about the parking brake shoes.
There are plenty of service jobs on MBs that make you see red !

If you think the dipstick thing is stupid wait until you have to deal with the parking brake shoes ! :D
Yes that's another thing, nice old cars but I honestly don't think I'll have it long.

As I said above.... why would that seller idiot say the auto dipstick doesn't work/fit when it does 🙄

The older stuff can be a bit 'challenging' and I suppose it depends on who you are and what you want from a car ? I bought my 2006 C55 AMG on a whim , had it not been on a forecourt halfway between where I was working at the time and my house I probably wouldn't have bothered. First ever MB.

If it was a boggo Diesel S203 it would have been gone years ago. I kind of enjoy the rareness of my particular V8 car and am (in most cases) able to deal with the mechanical 'challenges' myself DIY , no matter how infuriatingly badly thought out some things are (all marques have their quirks) .

What TOTALLY pi$$es me of is the body corrosion , inexcusable on a £50K+ 'high end' marque that is (allegedly) galvanised , but that is a whole different thread .

Like I said , if the dipstick thing bugs you (it bugs me too) be prepared for more, or like you said drive it for a bit and get something else 👍

The gearbox oil level is measured after a 20 minute+ drive, on a level surface , engine running , gearbox in P .
Then use the dipstick and remove it .
I don’t know why they don’t leave one in , I would guess it’s a financial reason .
