Dipstick for SLK 200 engine

I noticed that my SLK engine doesn't have a dipstick and on checking with MB they state that it is a service tool only and that they don't provide technical information to customers. Hmmmm!

I plan to do an oil change myself and in my view, a dipstick is essential to check oil level when filling.

Are these dipsticks available for punters like us to buy and if so, where can I get one?

The dipstick has mm measurement up it like a steel rule no real good for home use and its expensive. (over £100 I think)

The best way to check the oil level in your car is to fill it up with 4-5L and check it using the cluster menu and ad half of what the cluster recomends. Then re-check it after a 10 min road test.
