Dirty injector?

Hi all,

When I did the thermostat a few weeks ago, I noticed a little problem which I have pictured below. One of the injectors (no 2) looks to be dirty, but with what I don't know. The underside of the foam sound-deadening moulding was a bit dirty too where it makes contact with this injector.

There are no wayward noises, and the running and starting performance is exemplary.

What I want to know though, is what trouble (if any) am I storing up by ignoring it? And what can I do about it?

The injector seal looks like it's leaking. New seal and the seat re-cut is what is needed.

It has been covered before.

Thanks, Ollie. I thought it stood a good chance of being that, but I appreciate a proper diagnosis.

Having said there are no wayward noises, there is a mild tappet-like noise in this area. Would that be related?
