Does anyone know where the vacuum advance hose on the distributor go to/attach. It is the 280 110 engine from an 83 sl. It is attached to the distributor at the mo and is a red hose but does attach to anything, help!!
It will be attached to a small spigot on the inlet manifold somewhere but may go there via a valve or pipework associated with the idle / emission control system
Evening, I'm not a mechanic but I've trawled the internet and hopefully this will be of help?
1) Left side of engine is the inlet manifold
2) Note a flying saucer shaped EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) Valve
3) Trace the pipe (from the EGR) back to the Throttle Valve
4) Carefully notice that this pipe enters the Throttle Valve at the base
5) Above the EGR pipe is a spigot (or now a plastic pipe that used to lead to the distributor?) on the Throttle Valve
6) This should be the Distributor Adavance/Retard port?
Good luck and apologies if I'm wrong!
