Morning all,

I bought my E320 in the first week of February this year and have so far put 4800 miles on it without a blip. I changed the oil and filter as soon as I got it so I am assuming that's okay but are there things that I ought to be doing to this car to keep it happy that I wouldn't have thought of?

Any advice gratefully accepted.

ATF oil and filter, coolant change, brake fluid...check when these jobs were last done..if ever!

Regularly clean out under the arches for mud and crap to hold the rust off, also consider getting the underside rust proofed esp around the jacking points.

Enjoy the car.

Also ensure the drainage holes don't get clogged.
I had the problem on my Coupe, where water got into the cabin.

Regularly service the car (~9,000 mile intervals).
The gearbox oil needs replacing every 36,000 miles. I also have had my diff oil replaced a couple of times, too.

As has been said, enjoy the car.
Before it's semi-retirement, I ran my E320 Coupe as a daily driver for 4 years, covering over 50,000 miles.
Yes I had a few gremlins - the usual M104 engine and W124 bodywork problems, but she was fantastic. Now she's rewarded with summer use only :)

Cheers for the input guys. I did get the car rust proofed underneath in March so that's all good.

No idea when or even if the ATF has been changed so that's next I guess along with a coolant flush. I'm too scared to even look at the wiring loom :)

And thats the way it should be. Dont look, dont even peek. Let that sleeping gremlin rest in peace. It will let you know if it needs attention:eek:

As other have said enjoy that motor car sounds like you have a good one:thumb:.

Then assume the ATF needs changing..whilst its being done and the gearbox sump is off change the K1 and K2 springs on the gearbox..it cannot hurt.

Unless you are inordinately lucky the wiring loom is imminently toast despite what John (Trapper says). when it fails on you is just a matter of timing. budget for it now and save the hassle of a new ECU.

C124 are such cool cars but then I would say that so good on you for using one. any pics??

please tell more about the k1 and k2 springs. i'm planing to change the atf and filter in near future. :)
