Just wondering on this one. I recall seeing a "how to" on painting door handles to match the cars color. But seeing as i am lazy and would rather save myself the bother and get it done properly, i was wondering if it can be done by a body shop. There is a rather good one near me, who have done work on my w202 before. Would it just be a case of matching the colour on the car and spraying the handles? Or would they have to take the handles off and spray them? Also, how much do you think i should be paying?

Cheers

Rob.

The trouble with spraying them is that even with the best intentions, the colour will chip off over time. It is better to buy them already in your body colour from the stealer, it will cost you about 100 quid for the set.

Thanks NW Merc. Does anyone have the part number? Are they colour coded w202 handles i am asking for or w210 handles?

Also on a seperate note, any idea how much a set of Merc Kickplates (non-illuminated) for the w202 will be from the stealers?

Thanks.

Also don't forget the little black plastic bit that covers up the lock. Usually missing but a great way to blend the handle into the car.

As a minimum, you'll need the bodyshop to spray the IR end pieces on the front doors. They could spray all the parts if you wanted, to save buying new pieces. The finish should be as good as factory. I bought the new parts and had the end pieces sprayed, you can't tell the difference.

I used touch-up paint to colour code my little black door lock cover - you can tell the difference there!

Good luck, it can be done with a bit of patience.

The non-illuminated kickplates were £162 when I last enquired. The was a thread on these yesterday.

PM me if you need any further advice on these.
