Dpf cleaning spray recommendations please

Will try this too. I tried to get the car to regen today, cleared codes reset limp mode and took on the a1m firca for 30 mins over 2k rpm. Didn't work, went back into limp mode.
Might try a new pressure sensor, cheaper than professional dpf clean. Then will try a DIY foam cleaner but thx will try additive.

What readings are you getting for dpf sensor for pressure?? Soot content etc ..

My £7.99 scanner from temu doesn't monitor that! Lol. Its fine for reading and clearing codes. I may invest in icarsoft V3.
But thinking maybe if investing £20 in 3 cans of Mannol and/or a new Bosch differential sensor for around £50 first.

Shouldn’t be any need to clean a dpf, usually there is an underlying issue preventing active regen. Often this is the dpf pressure differential sensor which can fail without giving a eml until car goes into limp, other things are faulty thermostats where the engine doesn’t get up to temperature, this appears common on the v6 diesels. Twice I’ve been told I need new dpf or get it cleaned, but simply dpf sensor prevents regen, easy to diagnose, my Viano is on 344k miles on original dpf and cleans itself in less than 10 minutes from over 100% full.
How do you diagnose a bad sensor? With a scanner?

Just swapping out the sensor for another won't work , you need to run an adaptation, for the ECU to recognise the new sensor and new readings. A mb 3 would allow this . I can't see how dpf cleaner from a can will work , have you seen the complexity of the honeycomb inside a dpf , you'd be better off taking a pi## down the exhaust pipe and park downhill. 😁

Ok thank you for the info. The spray you put into the dpf via the sensor port. I've seen good reports (and negative ones). You refer to Amb3 above, is this the same as icarsoft v3? Hope so as I've ordered it 🙂. I've been watching you tube vids by O' Reilleys Autos. Jimmy there posts lots of videos of him unblocking DPFs successfully and also finding and fixing the faults that cause the blockages, usually by preventing auto regens.
This guy is really thorough and the videos are an amazing source of information.
Lots of horror stories there of rogue specialists, main dealers and DPF 'specialists' giving bad advice and charging the earth. Admittedly the guy uses all the kit (£6k scanner, compressor driven injector pumps, smoke machines etc etc). However I'm optimistic that I may be able to solve my problems with Mannol cleaner and icarsoft v3.
Also I've realized that the probable cause of all of this was taking the car to a local garage for a service and MOT, where it returned with an engine light!!
