we all know the laws on using mobile phones and alike while driving, but seriously I found one of the most distracting things to be children, some time ago I asked the forum for translation services as we have a 9year old Belarus girl staying with us as a part of the chernobyl children's life line, this would be only the third car she's ever been in and passenger etiquette is non existent, windows go up and down, climbing from front to back, insisting everything travels with her on her knee, trying to gain my attention by turning my head with her hand and while shouting marko marko, and constantly chattering in Russian and giggling at everything that passes every time I break she grabs the gear lever she thinks she's helping me stop the car, all this at 40 mph if you all prey for me that would be helpful, we have explained the dangers via an interpreter but she just goes to pot when she's in the car but I carnt help but smile when she puts on the sunglasses we bought her ,with the uva sticker put back on the glasses by herself, she throws nowt away.

Portable DVD m8!! ;)

Wish they had been around for out 2 eldest who used to make a good impression of Punch and Judy!

Our 9 year old just loves going on trips now!
Regards

tee hee we use the second row of seats to seperate our two when they start fighting.

One in the back seats with the dog and one in the luggage bay seats - we even put the dog guard up to seperate them one day :)

Another way we tried was when we were taking them somewhere they really wanted to go and started fighting on the way we turned around and came home - that worked for the following 3 trips until they forgot about it :)

Perhaps the government should make carrying kids in cars illegal unless they are restrained by full racing harnesses?

I would just make it illegal to take kids in cars - full stop :D

Must admit - the Voyager made a BIG difference - their own very comfy seats with their own arms etc that they control - recline as and when they want - or the back row if they're feeling particularly grumpy  :D :bannana:

Gameboys have been our saviour not DVD - they'd argue over what to watch  :(
