Driving in FOG

At last.

See, it only took four pages, not that painful really, was it? :)

As i said if you read the posts before you post comments you will see that i said that in the original post so the last 4 pages of comments by you were a waste of ink so to speak.

BTW - you were still driving too fast if you cannot see a fixed item of road furniture. Concentration at 100% or otherwise.

I rest my case on that.

While we are asking questions could you answer me this one,

You are driving on a dual carriage way with a national speed limit in lets say a mild fog and you were going at a safe speed of lets say 60mph and you suddenly came into thicker pea soup fog near on zero visability,

Would you brake hard and just come to a stop as in your own words you only go as fast as you can see and stop, so if you cannot see i just presume you would just stop, and would you say that that stopping on a dual carriageway would be safe ?

You forgot the third option.

Carry on at the same speed and drive up a roundabout...

He married the roundabout and lived happily ever after.

FGS, DM, stop coat-trailing and let it rest! Somebody has to...

That question was for LTD not you but as you cannot help yourself yes driving at the roundabout braking and driviving around it would be a whole lot better that a 40 ton lorry hitting you from behind at 50mph because you were so carefull you stopped because you cannot see 200 yards ahead, and i bet you would have a nasty headache if that 40 ton lorry hit you, but i supose the relatives would have a nice insurance claim.

Let's get this right.

The O/p drives beyond his capabilities for the conditions, nearly crashes when others don't, then blames;
1.The roundabout,
2.Other drivers
3.The fog.

Was there a 40 tonne lorry behind you?

Can't see 200 yards, but nearly ran up a roundabout. How much visibility do you need?

Now let's get serious. Don't you think that yellow fog lights are much more efficient than white ones we have now.

You just cant help it can you ? answering a question without reading it, The question was a hypothetical question for LTD just to see what he would do in that situation and bears no relation to the original post but i forgive you as you appear to have the inability to read.

Wow a serious question, I cannot answer it though as i am a imcompetent driver that loses consentrationin fog and travels to fast for the conditions, however i'm sure dieselman will give you a better answer or start anothe argument

If you had yellow fog lights you could drive faster and would see the roundabout much earlier.

Is give it up SLK. Dieselman thinks he's right again and will always want the last word. I get you.

Ya get meh ?
