Duchatelet 24V Coupe, no reserve, 1k start, FSH, low miles.

can someone explain why so many ads on fleabay are on behalf of a friend/mate/neighbour [insert preferred synonym for man i met in pub here]?

I tend to find I just click straight through anything not sold by the person that owns it. Am I wrong?

Ditto ^

I may have missed a bargain or two. However I feel more comfortable not bidding on this type of item. Friend of a friend job - not good.

Looks like a standard car with a badge to me......

Nope, you've missed the large lump of plastic screwed to the boot lid.....that makes all the difference.

Because they don't have an eBay account and only want to use it this once?

I have done this for a friend recently and another friend wants me to put a TV on the bay for them because they don't have an account and its easier for me to do so.

People are much more happier buying from somebody who has 50 positive feedbacks rather than someone starting an account with 0.
I know i definitely am.

I think it looks like a genuine advert.

Good images, informative and the owners number.

The seller certainly wouldn’t want to risk his feedback record – that 100% figure is highly prized, particularly as it grows.

If I hadn’t got one I’d speak to the owner and bid, subject to, etc, without much worry.

In fact, I'll call him and post.

Cheers,

Paul

Anyone else notice that the Tri star on the bonnet is on at a juanty angle? Looks pretty nice on the inside!

I like that - you can see from my sig that I had a 300E 24v engined car - just love that engine (after the top gasket problems have been sorted)! Seems a bargain for somebody.
Cheers

My old 300CE 24v had 1 of those lumps of plastic screwed to the boot.. IMHO, it looks good - except its a bit of a bugger to clean - you just cant get your hand all the way under...

If my circumstances were different I'd be over to Hatfield like a shot to look that car over and check through accompanying documentation.. Assuming it has a full history, and theres no major faults - anything under £2k is a bargain..

I've tried a few times to contact, and a couple more this evening within about an hour of the auction ending, ready to bid, but no answer. That is a tiny bit odd.
I'll keep trying.

It's sold, I put a couple of cheeky bids on just in case.. but didn't win it.
