DVD player placement

Currently dvd player is under the front passenger seat and feeds twin head rest screens

I would ideally like to move it somewhere more readily accesable

Where would people suggest it is fitted

Car is a W163

Player is circa 23cm deep....so unless I modify it, it wont go in glovebox

was thinking of replacing the rear ashtray with the player???

Is there enough room under the rear cupholders in the void? you would have to cut it though. Is it DIN sized?

I'm thinking of doing a similar setup in our bus with headrest screens.

ditto, im putting the dvd in the glove box as its not really big enought for anything of use, also it will be nice and close to the comand aux connection.

why would it? a single din unit in fitted into a car in the normal stereo location is confined enough and has its fair share of trapped heat, the glove box will be fine.

re my post above, im now not going to house it in the glove box (even though ive now got the AUX port installed in there to the comand - THANKS AGAIN ALFIE 1st CLASS JOB ) the space is too small to fit the directed dvd player, its just too tight without cutting the back of the glove box and i dont want to do that.

So, the dvd player will be located under the front passenger seat, there is tons of room there. Will get some photos uploaded when i start the install work.

Mine is installed under the front passenger seat

It caused some problems in that a disc couldnt be changed easily when on the move

Fix was to turn it around and mount it so it opened to the rear.....

Had to remove the plastic diffuser for the air con....but that is no real problem

Wife can now change a disc when on the move

out of interest, what is the model of your dvd and screens. do the wires fit inside the headrest pole or did you run them some other way?
