Dvla issues

However , the OP did post a response from the manager who suggested that if he had phoned straightaway and pointed out he had made a mistake , it could have been sorted . It seemed from his original post that he did exactly this .

I think that the timescale that the manager referred to was post bid and pre end of auction.

In such a scenario the two DVLA employees are consistent and no lies were told.

I will admit to being unclear on this as I have never participated in one of these auctions , but isn't the auction over as soon as an item is won - just like eBay ?

I presume also we're talking about an electronic invoice , or are we ?

If an electronic invoice sent out straight away then the OP phoned within minutes there ought not to be a problem . Otherwise , don't they send email confirmation you have won an auction ?

If it was a paper invoice posted out and the first notification he had won this second auction , he can't reasonably be expected to phone any sooner .

Perhaps the OP doesn't understand the system , perhaps it is unclear ...

In the words of Doris Day:

Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps.

Once I won I get a confirmation email stating you appear to be the winning bidder and the results are being checked and verified. Do not make any payment until you get a confirmation email. I then got the emails with attached invoices and then contacted the dvla auction team where it all started to go wrong..

change your user name to WAZ 199 and you're sorted.

Haha I think the credit card is gonna have to take a bashing. And a name change for me as advised lol. !
