I have a 300TD W210 pre facelift E Class

Is it possible to install the later clocks and the multifunction steering wheel in the car, has any one done it ?

Again where is the speed pulse in this car ?

Can you change the normal aircon dials to climate control ?

hi james - i have a 98 e class w210 - just fitted a becker sat nav to it - the speed pulse cable in the plug is green and black.

Regarding the steering wheel - have thought about doing mine - but did read a post saying it would need a full multifunction display upgrade too - lost interest at this point.

btw - still love to buy yr silverstone - at the right price - lol - discount for mbforum member - lol

yes m8 it has been done. I have a PDF file showing you how to do it too ;-) The PDF was given to me by a member on here who retrofitted these to his E class like yours.... i used the info to do the mod to my CLK.... so could also help with the installation if you had any questions as it was 99.9% the same on the CLK as it was on the E class.

PM me your email (its 9 meg in size!) and i will email it to you. Wont be until 27th now though as i am on holiday from tommorow for a week.....

Please note that this update will probably only work on W210 models from 1997-2001, the 95-97 (with flip-key etc) probably don't have enough canbus parts in them.

If you want some estimated prices, the cluster is about £350, wheel about £300 or something, wiring and other bits probably another £100.

Technically yes, but basically no.

Requires a new heater core (complete dash removal), new fascia, a few sensors and control units, the main display and some other bits and pieces. It's only really possible if you have a wrecked car you can raid for parts.

sorry its taking ages for me to find the PDF - i've lost it somewhere on my pc! i know its on my old HD (that is out of the PC at the mo), so will connect the old HD back in to grab the PDF in a few days!
