E-Class Coupe/Cab Brilliant Blue

Unfortunately you can't get anything other than black or beige for the interior now. Because it's a run out model, they've drastically reduced the number of options.

and that one would look so much better with the beige interior

Only 5 of us this year. 2 went in Feb and then I'm going early April

My colleagues have told me all about it

What's the schedule for the New E Estate?

I think it will be late 2016 (October'ish) from some of the press articles I have read.

I am looking forward to the revised petrol engine line up including the updated 2ltr turbo version of mine with 242bhp (currently 211bhp) and the 4ltr twin turbo at 580bhp...I wish :)

Matt Welsh, can you correct or shed any further light on this?

Anybody know which platform the new "E" Coupe is being built on ??

Lovely colour!

Shame about the interior though.

Do customers really order a 4cyl diesel cabriolet?
I can't think of anything worse, if spending £45,000 on a new cab I think I would find the extra £5k for the sweet 6cyl petrol.

The 4cyl diesel is the most popular choice in the range. The V6 whilst much smoother does a lot less miles to the gallon and is much higher tax for company car drivers.

I know its not an E Class (or a cabriolet) but here is what Brilliant Blue looks like on a dull wet overcast day.

Funnily enough this colour isn't available on most C Class saloons. MB seem to have some weird ideas about what colours can appear on what models.

Who has a convertible company car?

I know of several people. Aren't they allowed? :D

Private leases on company car allowance is quite common as well.

Mine isn't a company car or private lease, but it is the mileage done for business that pays for it. Hence the 4cyl diesel economy makes far more sense than the V6.

Most company policies I ever came across tended to exclude convertibles.

That said I've not run vehicles through my company for years, it's just too expensive.

I think the convertible is different to the rest of the E class range, it's not a repmobile and by it's nature would lend itself to the E400 model through choice.

I have to admit. it looks much better out of the showroom.

You'd be surprised, it's the large majority. We sell a lot of 220d's, a few 350d's and very rarely a 200 or 400 petrol

Once owned a 53 plate C200k Sport in Jasper Blue, always regretted not getting the car in silver.
I like silver.;)

Interesting.
I would have thought the cabs would have been the one model where petrol still sold well.

I wonder if they would have sold the E250 better, still the pretty frugal 4cyl but with 211hp?

I agree, makes no sense as a company car, the E220d premium works out at £541 a month in BIK tax.
You can contract hire one for £410 a month with only £1200 down on a 3x35 doing 12k miles a year, or £490 a month doing 20k miles a year.
So you are £200 a month better off not having a company car.

It makes absolutely zero sense to have one as a company car.

Which is why people buy them for themselves, often second hand and claim the mileage back (or have a payment they use).

It makes no less sense than having a boring saloon or estate that way. Whether I drive a C;Class saloon or E-Class cabriolet I get the same payment and tax by not doing it through a company car scheme as a lease car.

Not all company usage has to be through the government scheme. You can opt for payments or business use of personal car.
