Just find out that my boot navigation unit is not working(E280 sport 2006),can anyone suggest where to buy one second hand at a reasonable price,see photo attached

They occasionally come up on ebay but to be honest You could be buying one that may or maynot work. Contact https://www.commandonline.co.uk/Phone-System-Retrofit-Kits/ They may have they have removed when upgrading other peoples systems

Is it worth bothering with given the price of a new portable unit?

It's not that great when it works - well mine isn't (2004).

I replace the dvd laser carriage on those its a common fault they stop reading the discs.
