Does the car start?
Will it lock and unlock the doors?

the red light is not working,iv put new batteries in and still no joy...

wow nice post on the repairing of the key, were should i look for the other posts on the key..thanx

Repairing it yourself isn't easy if a contact is gone. I ended up soldering mine (and had never soldered before.

Make sure the contact really does press down on the battery with the cover closed. You might want to wedge something between the top of the contact and the plastic cover (like a fodled bit of paper) just to make sure it presses down. Be careful if you think you can bend the contact - it may be work-hardened like mine was (and it ended up snapping off).

there is another access point on the boot on the estate, i used to open the estate from back, i realise the actual unit is not working, but sometimes the one in the door handle go busted, and that is also is expensive to replace

i,ll be attemting to solder the switch to circuit board in 15 mins...wish me luck..

iv soldered the switch, and noe how do i sync the key to the car....help

iv sync the key....does it matter because i havnt started the car up..

NOPE the remote is only to do with the remote locking. Just see if it locks unlocks the doors remotely.

every thing is all good, just been told front wheel bearing needs changing and gearbox oil/oil filter...cant wait to get it on the road..thanx guys.

Good stuff glad its all working now.
