e220 cdi limp mode maf problem

Even if it reappears do not rush off and buy a new or even used turbo. For my d-in-law's E320cdi (W210) I used AET Engineering Ltd at Normanton (near Pontefract) to refurbish the turbo (around £300) and no trouble since. This is their main business. I have no connection with them by the way other than as a once off customer. Removing and refitting is a diy jib, all from above IIRC except the exhaust to turbo clip, the oil return pipe from the turbo, and, of course the undertray for access to the above.

Bon courage

guys I done everything I changed turbo, new egr,maf all sensors were tested do you know someone in Reading who can do proper diagnostic for me

Hi folks, in on holiday
in Dorset, from Glasgow, and my car went into limp mode due to a flat tyre on route, changed with spare then replaced tyre, drove 150 miles with limp mode off then its has came back on, no lights - any suggestions?

hi thanks for all your replys, it was the turbo wastegate stuck i had few mechanics check and was told need a new turbo but i sprayed wd40 and knocked it with a hammer few timez and now boosts no light and plenty power thanks
Mine was a bit sticky when i bought it due to the car not being used for a period of time by the previous owner. I done exactly the same thing as you. some WD40 and light tapping and its never done it again. There are various codes this can throw up pointing to turbo problems and also MAF problems. But the simple things to check with a limp mode first is, top boost pipe for a rip in it leaking air, the actuator is moving when u rev it high, replace the dpf sensor ( this throws up an egr valve error code P1402 ) when its nothing to do with the EGR valve. It is very rarely anything to do with MAF or MAF sensor. If a part costs a lot then the simple math for it is, that part is a part that very rarely goes faulty hence not many are required to be made to sit on a shelf for selling hence the massive price put on it.. These type of parts are the last components that should be checked. eg, turbos, egr valves MAF assembly. EGR valves DO need a good cleanout tho which can be part of rountine maintenance by the car owner easily.
