E220 coupe
Hi ,
I have recently bought an e220 coupe 1996 and the engine has started hunting ,
once or twice it has been quite a lurch foreward when just coming to a halt ,
it also does it , but not so violently when stationary and in neutral .
I have been advised to take it along to a dealers and let them run a diagnostic check on the car .Then take it from there .
So I was wondering if anyone had encountered this before ?
What usually causes this problem , and what the eventual remedy was .
Many thanks.
Andy

Or a spark misfire caused by dodgy HT lead?

A hunting we will go

Thank you for the replies ,
Dieselman and
Lotusmark2 but what is a MAS ?
With regards to my car on the advice of an independant mechanic I have booked the car in for a diagnostic check at a Mercedes dealer ( £50 )
He informed me that the air flow regulator has recently been replaced and that the service history booklet does not say if the Spark plugs have been changed on the last service ( as they should have been ) Otherwise , aparently there is a unit to the right of the engine that costs £700 from Mercedes (exluding VAT and fitting)
which might need replaced . I am still drying my trousers off at the prospect of that one !
Please let it be an HT lead !
