E270 cdi
Hi,
I am new to this forum. I live in Sweden and this is my first MB. I have got a E270 CDI 2003 (w210) diesel engine that did not pass the MOT due to high emissions.
Should I change some filters? Should I run it with an injection cleaner or do you have any other solution to my problem?
I wonder if anyone here can help me out? I would highly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!
Chris

If there's nothing else wrong with it I'd be tempted to take it for a full on italian tune then getting it retested while hot...

Thanks, but before the test I revved it out maybe six times. The first time there was a huge black cloud behind the car. The allowed value here is 0,9 but mine was never below 1,3. The car has exceeded 200.000 Km so my guess is that I need to change some filters or something? But maybe I should try the Italian tune and rev it for a longer period to burn out whatever the problem is with my engine?

I am thinking of changing the air filter and the fuel filter anyway. Since the car is pretty old it can't harm to change those anyway.
Is that difficult to do that yourself? Is there any other filters or other parts I should change as well when I am on it? Is any special tools needed?
Could anyone help me out, giving me some instructions on how to do that?

Thank you,

Chris

For the cost of the parts and because I use an independant I've always had the air and fuel filters changed every service anyway - maybe run some wurths or similar through it and give it a proper, under-load run (revving it in neutral doesn't put much load on the engine, giving it some hard 20-70 runs will.

I retested the car yesterday, I bought a wurth and did some Italian tunings and it passed this time :)
Thanks for your help Timskemp!

Chris
