Newbie saying hello.Recently had new hydraulic pipes fitted on self levelling by dealership to pass MOT.Noticed that the rear suspension was lower after work completed, returned car and watched mechanic adjusting level lever on rear torsion bar and bleeding to try and correct ,this did not have any effect, returning car to dealership to correct again.Has anyone experienced this sort of problem following pipe replacement,i seem to think they may have crossed pipe runs, dealership hinting speres are fault but every thing was ok prior to work.Car appears high at front and low at back .

Welcome.

The spheres will make no difference to the ride height, that is controlled by the height corrector valve. Spheres will make the back end hard and bouncy.

It would be worth checking if the corrector is delivering any fluid at all, it may be that the car is riding on the rear springs only instead of springs and rams.

Just keep taking it back.

If they run the car onto a 4 poster ramp and operate the valve, the rear should rise and lower which will bleed the air out. It's no good doing it with the wheels hanging.

Thanks the wheels were hanging ,car was lifted on the jack points at either side.

As DM says , it has to be done with the weight on the car - either over an inspection pit or a set of drive on ramps .

The engine must be running and by working the control lever up and down a few times to raise and lower the car , air should be bled out . The ride height is adjusted by altering the length of the short link between the rear anti-roll bar and the control lever on the valve .

I've been there with 3 estate cars , so you have my sympathies . I know the pipes themselves are something like £20 apiece , and have always fitted them myself - out of curiosity , how much did the stealer charge for doing the work , since doing it the 'official' way involves removing the rear suspension ?

Thanks Pontoneer, they replaced the pipes that run from the engine bay valve block to rear ,running underneath to each sphere, both rear suspension rams, new height corrector valve with copper pipe, looking in engine bay there are 2 new pipes in valve block marked HR and HL ,these pipes were originally green as are the four others (not sure tehnical term for this block)it must split in front wing to four pipes because thats what i can see underneath without raising car.
You are correct ,bill identifies for removal of rear springs, shockers, subframe, removal of suspension pipes and brake pipes, replaced lines, bled brakes and suspension.
Labour £450
Copper pipe and unions £50
P/S Fluid 2 x £12:20 £21.96
This is from a total bill for £2025 which included service ,MOT,air con repairs, bit of a shocker to me at the time but its catch 22 when your not technical or DIY mechanic.
Taking car back Tomorrow will post result.
