I need to ENABLE the DRLs on US model E320 for Canada. There is online evidence (attached) that this is possible using the "illumination Control Module" N7-1, Which I have removed from the car and dissassembled. It ain't clear HOW to modify it, and I have zero documentation, despite subscribing to alldata.com, and pleas to the local MB dealer.

I'm gonna have to kluge something if I can't figure this out, and soon...

Surely if you just make the 12v feed into the module (relay) an ignition switched feed instead of a manual controlled one it will then force the lights on whenever the ignition is on.

Kluge

Yes, but: I got no sensible wiring diagram, and its not clear if the multipole switch inside the "illumination control module" is supplying 12V in a path that I can access via the fuses. Hard to know with the thing next to me on the desk. Guess I'll reattach the cr to the module, and see what the fuses for the parking lights do if I jumper 12 V in.

I think the lighter plug is switched with the key, so I can use that, unless there's an even moe local source of 12 V.

There is.

The fuseboard on the end of the dashboard has some fuses supplied with Ign 12v. This comes from the ignition switch so just re-route ther feed to the lights output.
