started losing a bitta power over weekend on my e320 cdi 05 reg . took it to mechanic an he noticed 2 injectors were leaking air . he started to take bolts off rocker cover but realised the injectors were not goin to come out without special tool so referred me to merc specialist . on putting bolts back he somehow managed to damage thread going into the head . now gotta have thread re done b4 new bolt can go back in . dramas dramas:wallbash: . any body ever experinced this situation an also any idea how much new rocker cover is an two new injectors ?

The seals have gone...not the injectors. The washers are about 20p each. But you will need new bolts. How could he have damaged the head:doh:.

these injector bolts need only to be torqued to about 7nm + 180 degrees and are very easily stripped of their threads and need to be torqued correctly. the injectors are about £200 each give or take never managed to damage the rocker cover so wouldn't know the cost of these.
cheers

already had the bolts an washers ready to be fitted but there is a bolt next to injector that needs removing to alloy the injector to be taken out . its to the side of it . thats the bolt that he managed to damage so it needs rethreading . been told injector is not gonna come out easily . obviously been leaking for a while. rocker cover could well get damaged so thats why i was asking for prices . is this kinda problem a common thing with a merc with 92k an full service history ?

Leaking injector seals are common.

may need to have the injector seats recut. sorry i misread your initial posting and thought the injectors had been condemned. this too is common on cdi engines.
