E43 AMG owners thread

I owned this car for just two days, not brand new but it has done about 20k miles, Awesome car always puts smiles on my face, but all happiness went straight to disappointment when started seeing issues within two days started receiving critical battery issues, went to the dealership they found some coding issues which is causing the car to use the battery even when it is locked, which was resolved. In two days now loud bang with a jolt when change driver select from ECO to Sport Plus it was so load that the car in front of me slides his windows to see if i crashed my car.

Break down engineer said that no faults recorded but control unit stopped responding to any updates its getting towed to the dealership again, all this in just two days of ownership, i hope they check thoroughly for any transmission a loud bang means something didn't work as it should, i cant even think of owning this car this without warranty.

You have a lovely car and there is a lot of pleasure to be had, I'm sorry your initial experiences haven't been too rewarding. The gearbox issue should be covered within your warranty, if it isn't you should return the car for a full refund. I haven't heard of this being an issue before, so hopefully it's a one off and is sorted for you.
Hopefully the battery issue is fixed now with the new coding, but you may find you would benefit from a battery conditioner or trickle charger to keep your batteries topped up if the car isn't used too often. Use the search function on here and search for 'Ctek'. Other brands will also do the same job, but I (and many others) have a Ctek (MXS 5.0) which works perfectly.

Good luck and hopefully you are enjoying the experiences of your E43 again in the near future.

I hope the same that its a one off case, I will buy the charger as soon as my car is back thanks 🤞

In my experience the newer cars do need a trickle charge every now and then.
Personally I find that with my car, driving about in comfort mode doesn't seem to put "proper" charge into the battery, so if I check with Mercedes Me it'll say partially charged.
If I drive a similar distance in sport+ (about 25 mile), then Mercedes Me will say status Charged

My car was charging but at the same time discharging faster they found a coding issue which made the car use the battery even during the time it is locked. This a manufacturing issue MB has released a coding fix for it. The AMG engineer advised that battery shouldn't show partial charging even after a couple of days of not using it, now I don't see the partial charge alerts even after 3 days of not using the car in this cold weather. Still waiting for the MB to check the issue with control unit and transmission.

Update: AMG engineer updated today that the control power module is not giving any output data, hence it needs to be changed and the replacement module is available in the UK, so it is being shipped overnight, post which further investigation will take place to understand the root cause for the transmission Thud/Bang.

Thanks for keeping us updated (quite uncommon on here).
Hopefully you get it resolved very soon.

Update: control unit has been replaced now, however they found the communication hub on the car is having issues, and I was told that they have never seen such an issue before with these cars, hence a technical case has been raised with AMG (Afalterbach) to investigate further. 😢

Flip, I hope you get sorted quickly and get to enjoy your car without problem.

Hopefully yes.
Finally got my car back it was a software bug, they did a software patch and the car started communicating fine. MB said no issues with transmission.

I am getting a high pitch intermittent squeaky noise on my left front wheel only during 20 mph or 30 mph no sound when drove first after it gets warmed enough. When you accelerate it does starts the sound. Does wheel bearing come under warranty. Car is still under manufacture original warranty. Your expert opinion is much appreciated here, is it good to take to the dealership or should I take it to MB specialists.

The squeaky noise only comes in dry weather, wet weather smooth as butter any one had such issues with these cars
