Well that car looks great,if you want to buy it then you have to look at the sub frames,for rot,that said it has a full MB service history you would think they would pick up anything but best look,what was the 2 grand spent on? best of luck.
 
Just a general question, how do they stand legally by describing it as "selling it for a friend", do the normal consumer rights apply seeing how is a garage doing the selling?

My guess is that it would depend upon who the buyer pays for the car.

If they pay the dealer, then it is clearly a business to consumer sale; if they pay the elderly owner it would be a private sale.

Could be AirMATIC struts as it was standard on the E500 or SBC pump from that era, especially if the owner uses an main dealer.
 
Always buy two decade old cars on condition.

That said, there's a better than average chance that such a car may have lived in a garage for most of it's life.

Still cheaper than buying a new Tesla S, i suspect.
